You really need to post multiple large pictures with close ups to tell, but there's a Rivarossi SP Krauss Maffei in there that could go for $30 - $50. Not sure what the bullet train goes for, and it looks like there's a GM Aerotrain in the back.

Yes, that SP Krauss Maffie sells well, those Aerotrains also bring good money. I'd like to see better photos of those two high-speed bullet trains on the right. Other than that, everything else appears "meh", but you never know, seeing just the ends of the cars isn't much to go on mostly.

Hey guys,

From what I can see, the best piece in the lot is this one in the FAR left corner:

/tyco/forum/uploaded/Mustangs_n_Trains/20120725225729_big$.JPG

It is a Rivarossi Diesel Locomotive A DA/R o A A/R

http://www.rivarossi-memory.it/ENGLISH_VERSION/Riva_American_Locos/Riva_A_DA-R_Eng.htm

They typically sell for $100 - $150 depending on the day and condition. Even parts ones sell for ~$50

This is a silver one I sold. The black with red & whit stripes version in this lot is older:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370560188858&ssPageName=ADME:L:EOISSA:US:1123

Here is a parts black / red / white one I sold:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370614236159&ssPageName=ADME:X:L:US:1123

That was the best I could come up with on a ~10 second glance, but it is a very good one.

It is just how I roll I guess. I have a knack for it. My vision is 20:650 without my glasses and corrected to a whopping 20:40 with them. So I did that with a handicap you might say. LOL It is just how I manage to make some really good buys others miss. I spot the details. Yes, Nelson! It was the read stripes and the general short stature and length that convinced me. I only went to the Rivarossi Memory website for the image to show all you guys.

Like this purchase of mine last week:

Can anyone spot the gem in there?

I used to collect Hotwheels and I would notice the change in color of a stripe, logo or windshield tint. It got to the point where i had thousands of cars and thy would change so many details ever so slightly that it just drove me nut so I quit buying them all and stuck to just Mustangs an a select few muscle cars.

Hi GG1!

I see the drive gearing for our Forums logo image:

/tyco/forum/uploaded/Mustangs_n_Trains/20120726102718_4286291328_debb574f5f_o.jpg

/tyco/forum/uploaded/Mustangs_n_Trains/20120726102818_gear.JPG3

I'll throw that gear in with this stuff:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/9977705@N05/4839116109/in/set-72157623238233266

and the rest is going in the scrap box or will be sold in various lots of single parts!

I just was looking at the photo and I noticed this Mantua / Tyco Aerotrain:

I did not notice it last night when I looked at the photos I think b/c my screen is smaller than the two I have here on my desk at work.

Nelson.. I see you got that one though now that I went back through the messages..

You would be correct waw47. I do not have (or really want right now) either so it is difficult to remember the difference between the two. Good eye!

Sean,

Yeah, I guess I got the eye, too. I sent PTgolf a PM about the RR switcher well before your post. I thought this was a lot he'd bought, but he said it's just from an estate sale website. Impossible to know the condition of the thing in that photo. Here's a pair in excellent shape for these -- all steps intact -- that went for less than $50 a piece.

http://tinyurl.com/cy8tjza

It's certainly not worth bidding on that lot for it. The lot might be worth it if you get it for a low enough price and re-sell at a profit like someone we all know (/tyco/forum/uploaded/NickelPlate759/icon_mi_4.gif), but other than that, I'd pass.

What is the steam loco on the right? I thought it might be an Athearn B&M Pacific, but the domes are wrong.

I would of traded off the SP Krauss Maffie for a Rio Grande one
Anyway the garage/yard sales haven't been selling any trains lately
Only thing I have got was a Hogwart's Express

There's a TYCO MDT Rocket-set Switcher next to the SP KM, five rows to the right has a silver/red Athearn Hustler, a grey Derrick car just behind the curved chord bridge, Athearn B & O trailer, to the left of the red & white Aero-train is a Roco Track cleaner, right end of picture has a Bachmann Southern Pacific 4-8-4, lower shelf has the remaining Aerotrain coaches...
back to upper row: a modified AHM Army Tank Transporter to haul two tanks...

Don't offer more than $100 (for the whole bunch), or you may have a financial hang-over shortly afterwards.

Some goodies... but also some oldies you add to a bone yard.

John

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.

I would never be able to pay the full current market value for it. Otherwise, I am always looking.
