Here is a simple customization for a Fleischmann turntable. I wanted to simulate the type of truss-bridge turntables that the Southern Pacific had in the Bay Area, so I kitbashed the trusses using Tyco bridges. These are the ones that came in the over-and-under sets, I believe.

There was a lot of cutting and gluing, but I think the final result looks good. I simply glued the trusses to the top deck of the existing turntable bridge.

A creative use of Tyco parts to make something different. You call it simple but it looks complex when completed. It really matches the prototype Nice, Red!

Yup, I think I'll fashion the "overhead thing" out of brass. The turntable is also too small for my Bachmann GS4, but it's good for just about all my other steamers, the bulk of which are 2-8-0's or smaller.
BTW, does anyone know the correct term for the "overhead thing" that connects the bridge to power?

That overhead thing I've alway heard them called "Center Arches"...
