terrific thomas,got these pair of cascade models coming in a lot of frisco and southern items,boxed and 2 different versions heres the other,ken
 weird combo,half brass half diecast

items arrived today,well pleased,from what i gleaned from internet,to have both versions together is rare,even though ones roof needs a repaint,came with info sheet to boot ken /tyco/forum/uploaded/catfordken/20120713070449_013.JPG the ends are different as per info sheet /tyco/forum/uploaded/catfordken/20120713070609_014.JPGinfo sheet /tyco/forum/uploaded/catfordken/20120713070733_016.JPG these cars went to bn with all over green with a large yellow stripe http://www.fobnr.org/bncarlist/passenger/psps.htm

looking at the roof on the car above,i thought it was diecast,but its not,its brass,so wondering what the grey patches are ken
 ps original seller was hitts hobby shop,wren road,goodlettsville,tn 37072 any one been there

Looks like dezinc, Ken. Just as zinc pest stops the hearts of us train collectors, dezinc stops the heart of model steam folks. It's the zinc in the brass that's trying to get out...not an issue on our models, but in a boiler it eventually leads to pinhole leaks

I can imagine bob,thanks ken given a dust over of paint after a rub down,will leave 24 hrs then tone down with dull coat
