I found a few of these on ebay, and I think I saw one of these at a garage sale. They look neat and if the price were right I'd get one, but are they? Do they run ok? Are they as finecky as other 0-4-0's?

Anyone with any information on the locomotive, its history, prototype, or where I can find one would be appreciated.

And sorry for not being on the forum for almost a year! I had lost my user account somehow!

Islanderh93,

First off, WELCOME BACK!

As for the 0-4-0, be carefull one its a Model Power, used could be a headache......so, yes I'd have to say it be slightly finecky. I have not had one in hand to testify to that but I'm guessing not much differenace from that one to any other Model Power 0-4-0, which I have had in the past and yes the other ones are well.......alot to be desired of!

I have one of those same engines, but made by Playart. If the running gear under the body is the same as the Playart one, be thankful it runs at all. From what I've researched I don't believe it had a official prototype, though I've seen plenty of foreign 0-4-0's that were really close. I plan to kitbash mine into something else soon as I find a suitable drive unit haha.

So in other words, don't hope for this thing to run well (or at all)? I'm a fan of it's semi-European look, which offers promise as a kitbash, especially as there only seems to be 4 stock tank engines available.

In which case, any ideas on a suitable drive?
