In a recent aquiring on the Helium car, I had mistakenly thought this was the Helium car:

Just what is it for, and who made it as I've looked up the Collectors Resource site AND Tony Cooks and have found nothing on it!

I've got 2 of them one in Chessie System C&O, and other one in Penn Central.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks guys! I couldn't find the thing to save my life on the resource site, but not knowing what it was, was the issue!

Now, a question, what would the tanks look like? As I'd like to "load" it!

From Googling CC, looks like simple 55 gallon drum transport is the norm, haven't found any railroad pics with them, but truck transport, all 55-gallon drums. I'll bet if you put some HO scale drums in there, they'd fit perfectly.

Jerry

Edit, addition - Here's a site with a pic of a railcar with square containers, I've seen these in other HO scale cars.

http://www.carbidellc.com/About/aboutdelivery.html

The main page shows the different transport packaging they can use, too.

Jerry,
Thanks for posting that! Now, I have to figure out which way to make the "loads" for these cars!

Interesting cars to say the least......(I've been an "open car" type of guy anyway so...... )loaded cars look much more realistic!

Now to figure out what way I'll do this!
