Hey Ken,
Looks like a standard coupling to me. Just has what looks like a small screw visible. How does it mount to the shaft of the worm? Maybe you could replace it with one from NWSL or Athearn depending on the worm shaft diameter and mounting method.

| Pretty sure the coupling is called a "universal", so the broken part might be a "universal... socket"? That's the first sensible term that comes to mind but I'm not sure that's absolutely correct.

Hi Ken; How is everyone home . I hope all are OK. * About the coupling. It is odd to see that type used where a screw holds the coupling to the shaft on one side. The opposite end is common. * Here is something I have. Perhaps it can be used for your needs.

* Maybe?

looks like a basic unversal joint.
If you can't find, one could be fabricated out of Delrin

I used to race RC cars. The 1/18 scale Losi Mini T used a dog bone setup in their final drive that I have used to replace that part on other locomotives. For RC cars that is a very common part. If you went to a good hobby shop they should be able to help you match something up.
As a side note I have found RC parts to be tougher and more bulky than what is needed for trains in general. If you need to shave a little material do not worry about it.
