I must have hit the "sweet spot" this weekend, I found some more candy cars for my consist, which I didn't have already. Been watching for the Powerhouse, I used to love those, cant' find'em anymore in Virginia Anyway, I got a car and a shell now. The Mars car I almost missed, I about passed it over until I re-read it, as it looks faded, but is that it's true color, or has it faded? Anyone know? Once I found it, I put it down and almost paid for the pile I'd stacked up before realizing I had set it down again and it wasn't in my purchase pile. Went back to the flat of cars and found it and it came home with me.

So I've got around 10 cars now, some older wooden style, some the newer all-metal. Probably have to run them separately, won't look right, so I'll have an old-time consist, and a newer set of all-metal cars. Works for me!

There are two shades to the milky way car, the other is slightly darker than what you have. For some reason that one almost never turns up with intact steps.
The Powerhouse car was originally made special for a trainset... and actually is the reason the candy bar was made. Yep, you read that right. It's in the bachmann catalogs for 1983 and 1984...

I have one myself Jerry. My Milky Way reefer is a lighter pink shade to it.

Guys (Gals?)
Look at my collection @ http://www.tycoforums.com/tyco/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11152 "Car Of The Week... " I guess I got the creamy version.
It's a solid car, otherwise. The X2F/HornHook couplers do have a long and pointy pin, eh?
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

SWEET! Uh, OK, that's overused now. LOL. Nice collection, though. I still don't have a Snickers, haven't seen one yet. I'll keep an eye out for that candy car. Do you run yours in a consist at all, or just display them? I hope to have the old wooden ones behind steam, and the more modern ones behind diesel on a DCC setup in the future. I do intend to run mine ( at least occasionally ).

For this forum/thread, "SWEET" is a well placed pun!
Right now, the cars are in a flat box. Eventually, when I get 4 foot legs onto my 4 X 8 sheet of 5/8 plywood, I will be running my fleet in cycles... I wanna fine tune them.
