Like the girl said in the old B&W movie, " Lets BOTH get on top! " < referring to trying to press down the lid of a suitcase, while two guys outside the door were trying to look thru a keyhole >.
Anyway, it doesn't matter WHICH is on top, only the motor end orientation matters (front or back). Since it's now swapped, the question is, which SIDE does the red wire go and the black wire go, to ensure proper forward / reverse direction. So the red and black wires need to be reversed on the trucks to ensure proper Fwd/Rev direction. But the motor ROTATION as to which color is on top doesn't matter, the motor will STILL turn the same direction, it's only when you swap it end for end that makes the difference.

It took me a few minutes to figure it out, but I deleted the prior message without the image.

So, with the motor placed with the leads now facing front ( cab end), PRESENT wiring (as I found it) would operate with the cab end as the front, right?
I will run a temporary hookup to see which way it goes, with neg on top, to see what happens, the reverse the wiring if needed. The wheel towers are too hard to remove from the chassis to get to the connections on each that are below, so I will adjust wiring where I can access it on top. Not to mention I am adding an LED to the rear light/number board lens, which is presently unlit, and replacing the existing front bulb with another LED.
More soldering fun in the garage this week!
