I have a 70's era Mantua plastic boiler 0-4-0T and a have a motor (minus DCC plug) from a Mantua Classics 0-6-0T. How can I ground the new motor to my 0-4-0T and will it be strong enough for this engine?

It should have more than enough power for an 0-4-0T. You can drill a hole in the top of the frame and use a Mantua 2-56 screw (they're pretty much self tapping) to hold down a lug or even a brass washer that you can solder the wire to.
