Hey Ken, Those cars were made by Model Die Casting (MDC) and are called Harriman cars.

The Harriman cars were used by the Southern Pacific, and the Union Pacific railroads. The Pennsy scheme is pure fantasy, but the later runs of the Pennsy cars had a more realistic paint job.

Those MDC Harriman cars were really nice shorty cars. The kits went together in a matter of minutes. Besides SP and UP the Illinois Central was a Harriman road.
I had a set of the Pennsy cars that I repainted using coach green. The roofs were sepaarate so you could detail the interiors but the trucks were plastic. Lighting them would be a chore.

Just adding to the mdc Shorty conversation, they are notorious for derailing on 18 or even 22 radius. But the fix is to trim the back sides of the end steps, which keep the couplers from swinging enough. The head end cars are OK, since they have no steps. Great cars, though.
