Neat Ken. I recognize James May also from Top Gear that I watch on BBC America. He also did a "Toy Stories" show? I had seen something like this before but I think it had something to do with slot cars at an old race track in Britain.

Ken, After watching the first link above I noticed he's, James, connected with his mate from his new show. Is Toy Stories still in production or on hiatus? Thanks

Gotta love the British; I don't think anything like that would ever be attempted here. I had to go watch the whole thing last night before I could go to bed.
Here's part 1, by the way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9fjrmn1jy0
Devon looks beautiful, and the Flying Scotsman made it 10 miles with it's original open frame motor.

the locos with batteries tied to side was for balancing the load of cells in the loco,,the loco with the stick again was for balancing purposes, both of those locos were experimental powered and as the voiceover says,in years to come these will be miniaturised, ken

It was the German's own fault for picking a slower freight loco for their steamer.
