I often wonder when I see an auction that has listed an extremely long shipping period, what are the sellers doing? I recently bought an auction with a 12-18 day shipping time listed.

The great thing is that it was not an auction of Insulin, or heart medication that I must have immediately..

I jusy don't understand what a person can be doing for two weeks before sending a package...

I have bought a few things over the years from older guys with health issues who couldn't easily get to the post office, so that's one instance where a delay is understandable.

I can't imagine any model tain thing that can't be waited a couple to a few weeks for.....

Also a lot of people who sell on ebay are not full time sellers whiich means they'll ship when they've done all the things their wife and kids need first.

I don't for example, have any idea how Sean ever gets anything shipped!?

You are correct MicroBen! I bought the auction for the steak truck in the color yellow. The yellow, (from the Horse set) are not as common as the orange ones with the cattle. The seller could keep the red flat car and I would still be satisfied.

I agree with all of the above comments. As I said before, these train items are not emergency products like we're waitting on Insulin!! As for the aution I used as an example, the seller PLAINLY listed the 12-18 day wait posibility, so the buyer had the choice to purchase or not under those terms

I seldom sell stuff on ebay but when I do, I'm a no excuses shipper. In todays world people want their stuff yesterday. I try to make sure my auctions end when I have the most time avalible. I ship the next business day religously. I have even taken small items on vacation with me & mailed them from states away while doing the transacting on the laptop.

Forum Member JEREMY, I have made two purchases from Jeremy here on the forum recently. BOTH times, he has packaged my train item & mailed it before I have even sent the PayPal!!
Thank You, Jeremy!

Walt:

My best Pal, Father Bill would argue that just because somebody wants something NOW, doesn't mean it's healthy for that desire or demand to be met now...

I think our perception of time is getting to be fairly unhealthy as a preoccupation. I admire the Navajo of the American Southwest, who have no word in their dialect for time.

anyway just my slant. The end is coming soon enough for most of us!

I found that no matter what a person says or does, be it right or wrong, someone will quicky disagree with them everytime.

I feel when I sell an auction and have received payment, the item is no longer mine. At that time I feel no need to keep it any longer..

That's just my opinion, I could be wrong...

I just do... don't watch much TV, that's for sure. This weekend I am installing a fiber optic ceiling star lite kit I ordered for my daughters bed room. I hope to get another batch of trains listed too... Too many irons for sure...

I have myself even taken packages with me on vacation and stopped at post offices along the way to ship things. Last year I spent most of the night before I was to leave packing and labeling items. I do my best and just hope people are patient. It's a hobby... It's supposed to be fun!
