Three hundred miles to the north in beautiful Plymouth New Hampshire. Engine number 47 pulls a fresh cut of logs into the siding. Extra measures were taken to relocate the resident owls to a new home.

Back three hundred miles south in Orange New Jersey a Penn Central engine follows up a load of Gerbers children foods. And above that is a gondola full of tasty oranges. Nothing like a refreshing cold glass of fresh squeezed orange juice.

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."

A VERY odd camera angle, if that's a church in Wisconsin. That water in the background sure looks like the Soo Locks.
Ignore my obnoxious nit-picking. That's a beautiful model in a beautiful setting. I like the big granite boulders supporting the front lawn. They look like something from the north country, as does that undulating blacktop road.

Scsshaggy - Very good! That is the Soo Locks. Back ground was a family project. Wife snapped the picture. I photoshopped it including adding buildings to the other end. My son who was at the time a graphic artist borrowed his employer's printer to print it off.
The Fox River Valley Railroad is set in Wisconsin but there is no attempt to replicate any real places. I pretty much borrowed place names. Thanks for the compliments!
Better shot of the back drop.

I am pretty sure kerosene existed by 1860. I believe there was also a coal derived lamp oil. The oil head lamps were said to be just bright enough to show you what you were just about to hit. Mogul engine number 61 is ready to go for deliveries at Batey Hollow.
