A Tyco Spirit of '76 blows past McNeal's Pumpkin Patch in Plasticville, NH on a frosty
October morning. Taken last night. I was supposed to be on my stepper, but got noodling
around with the Tyco for the next two hours. A lot more fun.

Disclaimer: The layout picture I have posted in this specific post is not a picture of one of my layouts, it's just a picture I took on someone else's layout.
Caught this photo of a beautifully restored American 4-4-0 crossing the newly built Linc Pinn R.R. bridge, delivering candy to the locals. The weather here doesn't seem to be very good, which may have been why there have been so few trains that day, especially since the railroad is known for having washouts along it.

This SP work train under DCC power which we got up and running after a 7 year
hiatus.
Standing invite to all TF members when in El Paso bring your train and tour the high deserts of El Paso on the Club layout.

I can smell the good old earth. I used to do a little farming back in the day.
This photo brings back happy memories of my youth in rural New Hampshire.
We see Penn Central and New Haven together again that brings back memories.

An aging Boston and Maine box cab engine is seen beating up a very tough 3% grade.
With an express load of pickles today. I used to pick pickles during summers decades ago.
My job was to follow the pickle picker who was a home made machine known as a Hadley Biplane.
Mainly because of its configuration. I am not sure if I hated pickle picking for weeks in the blazing summer.
Or hacking out frozen broccoli pieces stuck in old dirty dumpsters on frigid February New Hampshire mornings.
While using a hard iron rod. They call me the "Brocolator." Those were the days of my very interesting teenage years.

Last Train on the Once Mighty JNXT Railroad.
By Winston Mallet a special railroad correspondent.
Tonight at 9:30 pm the last train pulled out of the station and ended an era.
Union Pacific gas turbine engine with its consist made up of ten freight cars.
It was the last scheduled train passenger or freight to traverse the JNXT main line.
At least for the foreseeable future. Perhaps someone else will bring operations back.
There were few people to witness the event with the JNXT shops already closed recently.
Many area residents are temporary out of work. Will have to get other types of jobs for support.
There is nothing sadder than a nice railroad town without a railroad many people said repeatedly.
They remember sitting on their front porches watching the Super Chief pass through in the evening.
And later a few hotshot freight sets would go through before bedtime. Now it is just quiet.....too quiet.
A phase we are all going through that hopefully one day there will be trains shining the rails once again.

| Yeah Ben. I need to go over them for the umpteenth time. Though I'm thinkin' that what I basically need to do is start with a new board. I didn't appreciate at the time how critical it is to have a good flat surface and there are a couple of joints in this platform that cause a couple of pieces of that "composite" wood to lay just a bit weird. So it might be best for me to get to the root of the problem (maybe the turnouts are only the symptom, you know?).

I have been very busy as a hop toad on the 4th of July.
It has been a while since I have read the reports on The TF Railroader News.
WKS Coke it is. You just keep pounding out new colors and new gestalts.
Some new angles which are simply great and inspiring work.
Toptrain you must have posted those English Iron Ladies just for me.
They certainly make my heart pitter patter.
And you have turned back the clock in an amazing and unique vision.
That is lovely to contemplate. Love those diamond stacks.
Barry please sweep up the loose hair and mail it to me.
I have pulled out my own hair too often I have no more.
Some engines just deserve flying lessonsbover the garden wall.
JNTX I love that faded caboose shot with a great effect.
Please keep these great posts coming. They put coal in my fire box.
WKS I have done a little work on the 1880s layout.
