Thank you for your compliments Mr. Frankford.
I enjoy working here and writing newsworthy articles.
This weekend there will be a grand opening of the new amusement park adjacent to Avenue A in Bergen Point.
The construction crew did a marvelous job of converting that area into a miniature version of Disney World.
This will bring in much needed revenue for the area.
There will be a flurry of activity in the areas adjacent to the park.
I am sure that your railroad staff can handle the influx of equipment arriving this weekend.
I plan on covering some of the train consists coming to the area.
I am sure that other reporters and photographers will also lend in their support.
I happened to photograph your newly refurbished unit.
RDC #6391 carrying Governor Christie and local officials to inspect the park and the train areas.
RDC with dignitaries passing thru Clark New Jersey enroute to Trenton after visiting sites.
It deadheaded back to Bergen Point after discharging the dignitaries.
They were happy that everything went well.

Today is better than we thought possible with the sunny and comfortable temperatures here.
The amusement park is open in full swing and the rides have operated fine so far.
The crowds have not been huge but still respectable for a mid March day.
They will increase as word of mouth about this beautiful new park gets around.
The different train consists have arrived and are a wonder to behold.
One of them is a Erie Lackawanna set from Scranton Pennsylvania enroute to Bergen Point.
Via the newly reconstructed Lackawanna Cutoff. It was chartered by The Duryea Historical Society.
Train passing tower at Greendell New Jersey.
Restored coaches pass by Greendell Township.
Train entering Roseville Tunnel at Andover New Jersey en route to Bergen Point.

Today the weather was colder and cloudy but crowds were still coming to see the new park.
It looks like another success story for the area of Bergen Point.
Most of the trains have left the area but some will remain until Tuesday.
I photographed some trains leaving New Jersey.

"The Mojave," constructed by Fred Sunderman, Chief Architect of the El Paso Model Railroad Club, is conducting a barge of Felinite, otherwise known as cat litter, to the rail wharf. The scene dates about to 1992 and has been in continuous operation.

Back on this side of the pond, Captain Queeg hijack a northbound NH freight hauled by a sturdy old New Old Stock Athearn F7. Determined to show what the little engine could do, he pulled a lash of pumpkin colored boxes up a 1.5% grade- sounding like a cross between a wood grinder and hurricane until, until...until the scent of roast plastic became paramount and the little engine that could spluttered to halt, fumes curling out of the crew windows having burned the motor. She tried, and she fried. Dead as a wedge. Kaputski. 
Arrrgh, another wall queen.

News Helicopter reporter ;
Chopper Hi' Tower.
* Chopper here, Responding to the information provided to us, we proceeded west to the junction of a whole bunch of big roads, with cars and trucks on them. I keep a look out for the tell tale smoke of the burned out locomotive. Upon reaching the location given I looked out of the window and could not see anything. To much smoke coming from somewhere. It was hard to see through the smoke. After straining my eyes for another 10 minutes, I realized that I had forgotten my glasses and got into a truck instead of my helicopter and was lost in the parking lot. I realized the smoke was coming from the coffee truck in the parking lot. My excellent reporting sense, and large nose told me Mike were making someone a Ham and egg on roll. Not letting any opportunity pass to get the news I responded to Mike's fine dinning truck for a up close and personal look at a grilled cheese with tomato and his famous coffee.
* Well readers maybe next time.

Dear TF Railroader News,
I have very much enjoyed the stories and pictures in your fine Publication. Today I took a walk around my hometown of Wilton, Midwest Virginia to take some pictures that I hope you can publish. As you can see, this is a busy railroad town with lots of action at any time of day.
I climbed on top of the passenger depot to take this shot of a L&N coal train:
Later, I learned a lesson about how dangerous railroad bridges can be. I walked onto the bridge near our house to take another picture:
And then this happened!
Don't worry I am fine. But I am changing my name so I don't get into trouble. I will send more pictures when I can.

Now departing Track 3... Lovely "toaster" ready to slide out of Blue Mesa Station at the El Paso Model RR Club. I snagged this lovely gem off the internet and traded up some hoppers and a nice vintage Athearn flat with Shaygetz to make up a six car Tyco Amfleet train. While I love Tyco, I don't trust the head end power, so this Bachmann with its two motors seems to handle the load with relative ease.

"Blue Mesa, please exit coach from the front." Now here is a conundrum: the day before I took this shot, I took another rear end shot, but accidentally hit the button for video. In the image, I captured the silhouette of the little boy nose pressed to the window.
Computer does not support video, so I went back the next day to retake this shot.
Problem: little boy has absolutely vanished. I opened the car up and searched for him, but he is done gone!!
Is this an omen?

Here in El Paso we get to enjoy a strong showing by our Mexican friends, these first two by Mario A. The "white train" is a Fierra Tienda- which operated essentially as a government sponsored supermarket on rails which ran these trains to rural areas of the Mexico that were underserved. The "blue train" ran from El Paso to Chihauhua, and this depiction likely ran the length of Mexico from Chihuahua to Guadalajara, called the "Copper Canyon" train. Lastly, our talented member Mark S., has a superb model of a N de M (Mexican National) 50' box car. We frequently see Mexican locomotives (Ferremex on BNSF track) as well as Mexican roads. Photos taken 4/6/14 at El Paso Model Rail Club (visitors always welcome, bring your train: HO, O, N).

Guadalarajan scene, as the train slides into the sea port town. The air is heavy with jungle humidity, but the coast is splashing a symphony of tinkling waves to a crimson sun set. A congenial porter will take your bags to an expansive hotel lobby where the service is pleasant, but runs of tropical time.
Same train that took you through mountain switch backs of the Copper Canyon line. You wondered to yourself, "well structural engineers knew how to use a abacus one hundred years ago, and it was good enough for them. I wonder when the track was last relayed or if an inspection car has examined the track in the last five or ten years- a tourist train disaster would devastate the local economy...or...would...it?

I am enjoying the recent submissions from area reporters on local rail movements, especially the photos. On a walk through town this morning enjoying the spring weather, I was surprised by a Burlington Northern freight led by a classic F7. Beautiful locomotive.
The plants are all blooming out, especially down by the Freezee:
I noticed a most peculiar sight as a regular L&N coal train rumbled by - could they be aliens?
In the afternoon I hiked up the mountain that overlooks the town:

So, I hitched up 18 Tyco NH box cars to this NIB vintage Athearn unit. Made the circuit at the El Paso Model Railroad Club about twice, no derailments, no problems, but the motor melted down on the third attempt.

Great news: wall queen no more. Thanks to some encouragement by veteran Tyco Forumites, I got John Video Ghost Buster to replace the gears on this old honey, and she runs real nice. An older, I think, Mantua.
And, having roasted the motor on a nice Athearn NH vintage F unit, it is now running better than ever thanks to my friend Bob "Santa Fe" Mendoza, of the El Paso Model Train Club- and a UP engineer, who re-motored it.
Bob is a guy that works blistering hours on the UP extra board, running 1:1 scale, and then spends his idle hours modeling trains. Now this is a guy who has diesel in his veins.

DERAILMENT IN ORR YARD. As El Paso Del Norte excursion train came flying down a 2% grade, the heavy Mantua slowed suddenly as it reached a level spot causing a domino reaction of the cars behind it:

But there was one casualty:
The train was soon on its way. Another dead employee. NBD.

Wow Jeff....some great posts.
What an incredible scene of the popsicle express rolling by that church, a building that is a favorite of mine. Nice motion shot too.
Your story regarding the untold stories of that Mexican railroad box car is - in a much smaller scale and meaning - why I prefer to pick up old, well-worn cars at train shows. I wonder about the history of each one - was it a Christmas morning gift years ago? Did someone painstakingly build it? What unknown layouts did it travel? And so it gives me a lot of enjoyment to bring them back to life, so to speak.

Yup. Somebody really threw themselves into these older pieces, and by "themselves" I mean their experiences, their childhood, an attempt to recreate a simpler place in time. I have not met any model railheads, whether rivet counters or Tyco Heads who are not nostalgics. You and I share the interest in keeping these pieces in circulation- even if the memory is lost to time. I suspect that today's Tyco is tomorrow's Lionel. I doubt I'll live long enough to cash in on my $2 investment, but then the memories are priceless.
The church, by the way, was built and installed by a long time Club member, Jose Enrique, and it has a "church bells" sound track that can be activated. It is very similar in appearance to St. Patrick's Cathedral, near downtown El Paso. From time to time, I have slipped in some other works by Jose.
Jose has since lost most of his vision since he built this piece, and others. A man of iron determination, he continues to forge on and has wired much of the Club's N layout and is presently working on an HO module featuring a tug and barge for the upcoming Amtrak National Train Day show. We are helping him but he continues to work partly by feel and partly with magnifying glass.

At Topeka Kansas we see this wonderful train consist heading to Kansas City Missouri for display at its Union Station.
Thanks to the crew for stopping the train and letting some of us take pictures.

This past week a special Amtrak Long Distance Excursion train with a consist of classic full dome cars from across the country passed through our town, en route to National Train Day in El Paso, Texas - as part of a grand tour of the United States commemorating the event.
Carrying the marker lights is the ex-CB&Q business car Burlington, now owned by the home railroad JNXT (pictured on the observation deck are Bernard and Gladys Bickerson, winners of a contest to ride the train).

Adding to the confusion, monkeys were seen climbing out of the celestory vents.
Worse yet, as it was lunchtime, the doors were left open on the cattle cars, and lions were last seen clearing the Plasticville Hospital.
