Richie the Long Island Railroad was good to provide both coaches and power for the excursion trip. That is one if not the oldest railroad operating under its original name for its entire existence. I am surprised that the Pennsylvania Railroad did not strip it on its original name. Like it did to all the other railroads it took over by basically force.

Impressive Penn Central consist you saw Jeff. The CNJ helper unit was also great. Awesome steam action in Bergen Point Frank. Always busy over there in Jersey. Among the most beautiful locomotives and best paint schemes ever. Love the heavyweight consist. On youtube is a 1960's "White Paper" rerun featuring the last days of the New Haven. Some very interesting conversations between union rank and file. Since no one can quite grasp that the world has changed. Seems everyone wants a car or travel by jet. It is a shame. Still train service is important as we see Pennsylvania Railroad F units. They travel.

Nice Conrail and Amtrak views Jeff. Wonderful Pennsylvanian consist Robert. This next photo shows a Lima built steam engine restored by the PGW crew. They lettered her for their holiday fan trips later this year.

On one of her trial runs near Dunellen New Jersey. Runs perfectly. Time for the crew to have lunch.
