Does anyone have a long (say 18" or so) section of old tru-scale track, or EZ track (if they even make that length?) or something they could part with?
Whenever I photograph longer cars or sets of cars, the sectional EZ-track I use sags at the joint (I use a cheap card table underneath). Using shims is cumbersome. A single long, solid track piece would be ideal. A wooden (or maybe even gray) one would be even better, as it would eliminate the roadbed blending into the trucks and frames on equipment.
If you can help I'd be most grateful... thanks!

Maybe you could put a nice piece of wood underneath? Personally I'd use a scrap 2x4 or 2x6, plane it on all sides, run a router around for a decorative edge, and use a little spare stain to make it pop.
I'd even make you one if you like - just send me your address. Sagging card table would be a non-issue, and you could mount the track directly to the board permanently.

I think you can buy 36" pieces of EZ track, although the roadbed is really just two 18" pieces fused together. The actual rails are 36" long.
I think I have a couple somewhere...hmmph time to go digging!
Oh, and it is the grey roadbed with nickle-silver track stuff.
