My COTW is an H0 scale Rio Grande box car from an unknown maker.... Edit: Apparently, it's a Roundhouse.

My COTW is actually 4 of them. I found 4 of them this week, 2 on a run to check on a building I own 3 hours from me, and two at the big Timonium MD show this weekend. I thought I had 5, but only 4. I DID find another one at my shop today, though, coming up for sale, so I will probably try to grab it if possible, too.

Moved to it's proper place. I got these a few years back, not sure if they were legit but when they arrived I knew they were the genuine article. Until they arrived, I did not know TYCO sold undecorated cars.

WAW47, until you mentioned it, It did not appear to me that there are no white Center-Flow Hoppers.

This Golliwog goods wagon was from my first train set in 1967 while living in
England. Came with a wind up locomotive.

Cool Penneys, Walt. I will looking for it on the layout- with the night shift
sailing past in their hot rods.

Nice Lionels, Micro.

I just sent JNXT nine Virginian non-operating hoppers from this model train
estate sale I've been working on. Boy, is he a glutton for punishment. But
then, so am I: I kept like 9 B&M hoppers from the same collection. There
goes the neighborhood, and the commission!

Never-Seen-That-Before-Department: an undecorated Tyco. If that don't take
the cake. Was the QC person taking a personal break as it rattled off the line?
Talk about a white whale, this is a really intriguing bit of Tycomania to be sure.
Belongs in the Tyco Hall of Fame.

The undecorated cars are intriguing. My theory is that someone bought a lot of those to produce some of the promotional hoppers that are out there (Alcan, Pfizer..) Maybe some leftover stock that never got finished. These were probably sold to a third party to produce the promo items, as I don't think they offered undecorated items after the kits in the 60's and some Red-Box era locomotives. At least not to the general consumer.

Just a theory, but very cool to find.

I would think it's also also possible that the undecorated centerflow hopper is in fact a car that was stripped of its original paint and tampographs.
