Would really like to know if it was conceived before they made the red one?
The masking job with overlapping / crossing colors and intricate striping would have been very complex by Tyco standards so I'm not surprised this one got the ax...
Pity though. If they made it, it would have knocked the gorgeous NP Shark to #2 on my personal list [:0]

That really does look sharp Bob. Can you tell what they used for the pinstripes? it almost looks like thin paper strips or something. A lone amature built the ark! A large group of professionals built the titanic!

Rock Island trains remind me of the 1970s when we would travel to Sterling, Illinois during the summer to see two of Mom's brothers. I remember what I think was the Rock River that passed thru that town or close by. I can still see the guys standing in the middle of only knee deep water, fishing... Unlike the Ohio river that was only a rock throw from our house, was wide & deep, and full of under curent. At the time, I thought it was soo cool to see these fishermen in the middle of river...

According to the Tyco resource the Plastic Tyco RF16 came out in 1976. I don't think it says what the first plastic RF16 RR was though, anyone know? Alco Fan
