Amazing how close that is to production.

The primary difference is the lettering, and the sharper (yet rough) edges on the white nose stripe. Is the lower green paint sparkly?

This is still my all-time favorite Tyco diesel, hands down.

Rod Stewart's lyrics " Some guys have all the luck..." Forget bragging rights, it would just be neat to have a pre-production model. I think they would be an interesting article for Model Railroader.
Rod was in MR in Dec., thanks to Brianstyco for the heads up. These models would make a neat MR Dec/Christmas story, even though they seem to avoid the the subject of Christmas and trains or toy trains as in HO or N toys.
Thanks for sharing these.

One of the reasons I left Model Railroader back in the early 90s was that they took the hobby way too seriously. I remember well the ruckus raised when they did a feature article on Mr. Rodger's TV trolley layout and then a couple of articles on Thomas the Tank engine. Pretty sad...
