Yes. A set just sold for over $15.00 (8-7-07) same pkg as mine. These were available also until about 1982 in the brown / white pkg

Those TYCO Lighted Accessories certainly seem to hot numbers recently on eBay...especially in carded new condition. Am always still surprised at what I see them go for at times.

Wow! I have a bunch of mercury streetlights that someone gave me loose in a junk box. Wasn't sure who made them.
Unfortunately the only "mint carded" Tyco light-up stuff I have, is this:
Will those work with the others shown above? Even the brown-cards, or just the 60's stuff?
I do have some "unopened on crappy card" A&P Grocery signs, made by Life-Like.

What I find amazing (at last to me) is this.
In the picture that Brianstyco posted of the 70s brown card stuff there is a item to the right of a 4 light floodlight tower.
That tower is a dead on match for a O gauge version that is currently offered by MTH The O version is just larger.
I wonder if Tyco made the HO version originally (or was it subbed out) and they just packaged it.
One thing for sure MTH copied it from someone.

Wow.
If those are still going for $15 packaged, you have a little under $650 worth of Tyco lights there.

I remember those Tyco-town mercury streetlamps. I had them on my first layout. IIRC, the bulbs didn't last too long on my MRC Throttlepack.

Hey Nelson! I wonder about bulb life on my Fluorescent Lights. I dont know of any "long bulb' replacements. The good thing about the Mercury poles is about any small bulb will work for replacement!

The key is to run the lights at below their rated voltage. I don't remember if I had those streetlights on the 16V AC or 12V DC outputs, but whichever it was they were too bright. It's much better to use a wall wart or an old trainset transformer so you can adjust the brightness. They'll last a lot longer that way.
I know I replaced those bulbs, but they didn't have the blue coating that gave them that cool mercury vapor look.

I have noticed, on some of the Brown/white packaged Mercury lights thru the 70s... Did not have the blue film on the bulbs.. They were just a clear bulb..

Hey Ben The Tyco esso sign doesn't show up on Ebay very often. I don't think it is in many Tyco catalogs if I'm right. Seems like a really early item that may have been discontinued.
I bought that sign, to go along with the Life-Like ESSO gas station that also is not on ebay very often.... I havn't bought the Station yet...

Revised an older posting tonight, Sept 29-10 -- I won these two packs on ebay #160463680790 a couple nights ago. I wanted to have 100 of these light poles. Before these two I had 42 cards and 10 loose. Last night I tested the 10 loose and found one that did not work. So I have 97 working lights and need 3 more, or a couple of blister packs..

That is a huge batch of streetlamps, Walt. So did you buy them to use them, or do want to keep them as collectibles?

Brian, Thank You!
Nelson, Yes, these were purchased to be used along a large section of 4 lane slot car track on both sides of the highway. I'm not certain exactly how many I will use but I figured some extras will be needed...

I love the Tyco and Life-Like light ups. Still buy the Tyco Fluorescent poles when reasonably priced on ebay, which lately they have been priced at extremely crazy prices... I have 86 Tyco fluorescent poles on my layout and just about as many extra replacement poles.

But are they selling at extremely crazy prices? Or are they sellers just trying to gouge?
