So I'm gonna start a new thread since my original got pretty full. Tonight I made something I'm quite proud of. Allow me to introduce my shop's brand new Skid Flat Car.
This is semi-based on a real life prototype. At some point a few years back in Middle River MN, Independent Locomotive Services had a few ex CP/Soo Line Geeps, a few hoppers, and a flat car parked on a siding. The flat car had two Blomberg Truck frames on it. This car can just barely be seen here between an EX CP geep and the two Mack trucks.
I added a few extra parts, including an EMD high hood section, just for decoration.

Here is a Caboose I whipped up for RP a few days ago.
A week or two ago I scrapped what remained of my spare GP20 shell that I cannibalized for my SD24, and built up this flatbed scrap car. I'm trying a new technique with some chrome Airbrush paint I have currently, by paint the axles rusty brown, and a painting the wheel flanges silver.
I haven't had many projects lately, but I know I will have some more to come in the future. Work has been really busy lately, so I don't mind a bit of a breather. In the meantime I blew $30 and bought a lot of parts I want to finish my town diorama. It looks to be the perfect lot too...

Love the caboose! The Ephrata Valley RR will be receiving a lot of new equipment from the Anderson Shops....
Nice flat car detailing, too!

It doesn't have the building, but I didn't want it. I just want the cars and the detail parts.

While out at the parts yard today, the shop team hauled the cab of old #43 back to the shop to salvage some cabinets. This old Alco served Anderson Lines many years until a derailment damaged the frame beyond repair. It was turned into a parts unit, allowing the rebuild of the C630. Over time it was stripped down to the cab shown here.
In reality I recently purchased two warbonnet C430s just for cheap for motors, and the last one arrived with a broken and brittle shell. I wanted a radiator too, but the shell just broke apart while trying to cut it.

Thank you walt. When I do my layout in years to come, I intend to go with a Santa Fe theme if I do a layout. I only have a few Tyco Santa Fe engines left that I want to get, namely the Yellow Bonnet F9, and a 2-6-2 prarie.

That's a neat old dump truck from the days when wraparound windshields were in vogue. It looks like it's got really fine detail.
