My LOTW this week will be my recently acquired Tyco U.P. F9. I love how this unit looks with the GP20. Now it's just a matter of finding U.P. 537B.

My LOTW offering is....

The "harder-to find" variant of the Tyco Virginian RR ALCO C430!! Finally got this specimen, in mint condition at that, from Ebay, and can't wait to run it on RETRO TYCO.

Some fabulous pieces here. That Virginian is sweet, the B&M unit is killing me. I grew up in B&M country.
I am guessing that is an Athearn with a fine custom paint job???? Sturdy looking MDC steamer looks like it pull a heavy long train through Frank's Jim Thorpe layout. A G under wire, how cool is that?
Catenary is hard to model in any aspect. Is that a module or layout?? My offering is inspired by A-A-Ron's
double header, the likes of which PC was notorious, or famous, for.

Chops, Mikes B&M is actually a TYCO! Hard to believe when it's looking that sharp! I did not know MDC made a G5. I know lifelike made one as well, and I mean lifelike, not proto...

Tyco??????????????????????????????????????????????? That is
seriously a Tyco GP 20 with a factory B&M paint job??????????

Once again Mike pulls a rabbit out of his sleeve. I think, ah, well,
he had a good run of it, bet he doesn't have anything else to
surprise, and then blam-o out comes some Tyco jewel I'd never
dreamed of. Mike strikes again.

I had sworn up and I had sworn down, no more Tyco purchases,
I need to organize and prioritize my pile. Done, sworn done, adios,
finito, spend the rest of my days enjoying what I got, termino, no
mas. That's it.

Probably be combing eBay trying to find a Tyco B&M, preferably a GP 20,
but I'd settle for a Tyco B&M GG1.

I would want one too, but surprise! It's custom!

Just get a tyco GP20, Some white and baby blue paint, and make one! Im sure you'd do a good job! The masking looks pretty simple: just a white line across. Then add some decals and done!

Made out of an aristo craft 2-4-2, this locomotive is a tribute locomotive to the first locomotive you get in the US regions of my favorite game: "Chris Sawyer's Locomotion" which I totally recommend.

The locomotive in the game is called "Special 2-4-2"

And is based off this:

And Aristo craft just so happens to make said locomotive!

So I put two and two together, got one from brian for $15, stripped and repainted it. Looks great, and us a fitting tribute to my favorite game

It isnt actually supposed to be BLRR, but that's the only color blue I have so

SO AWESOME!!

Shame MTH Is bust

Many engineers were wary of that engine because they thought it was unlucky. 6+5+2=13. Theres an article on it in an issue of classic trains I have.

It’s sad tbh. I figured it was coming. The tale-tell signs where there. I was waiting for them to introduce Proto-sound 4 this year. But the last catalog(and multiple ones before that) was just MTH reusing tooling their demise came as no shock to me. I actually prefer MTH’s diesels to Lionel. Now I guess I’m going to have to buy only Legacy now.

Here’s a video of that E8 stretching her legs on the Carpet Central.

Yeah, I'd like to see that video, too. Impressive looking engine.

Casey never struck me as any kind of hero. A lot of engineers
apparently did not understand Newton's First Law of physics.
There were so many examples of a kind of shoot-from-the-hip,
devil-may-care attitude of these engine drivers who when
not ruining companies, were killing innocent passengers.

My engineer friend tells me that everything is wired back to
central dispatch (North Platte): hit the brakes too hard or
go slightly over the speed limit, you will get a prompt inquiry.

Try it now.

Looks like the forum requires you to use the full desktop YouTube link instead of the mobile one. I normally post on my phone, which funny enough, the video was working on the forum on my phone for me. I'm on my desktop now. Looks like everything should be working.

Sorry!

Yeah I had to order the B unit. For the price you can’t beat it. Even though there was no real B unit made up in this scheme. I’m a sucker for anything related to the Spirit of 76. This being Rock Island and Spirit of 76 themed was just too good to pass up. I don’t think I ordered anything else from the 2019 Volume 2 Catalog. I made the decision to hold off on MTH stuff and go all in on Lionel this year.
