1. (idiomatic) An occupation or any lucrative endeavor that generates considerable income
whilst requiring little effort and carrying little risk.

2. (idiomatic, politics) A gorging on luxuries, since someone else foots the bill.

That's an awesome custom, Chops! That looks like something Mantua could've actually made if they had some sort of deal with Lionel in the 50's or 60's.

That pink lady is pretty darn tootin'! Would love to see a
video of that girl polishing the three rails!! Now that "Blue
Boy" is one I have never, ever known about.

Yikes, wait a sec! She is shown on two rail track! Is that
an AC or DC unit? Is she O27 or HO? Still, very, very
cool either way.

I gather the pink set is pretty rare: Lionel tried to market to
girls and fell flat on its face, and quickly pulled the product
line. It is an interesting sociological quirk that there are so
very few lady railroad modelers. Point of fact, I met one of
eight locomotive engineers (or so she said) a few weeks ago.
A very pleasant and educated lady by the name of Debra Barnett,
who is a locomotive engineer for the U.P., currently holding a
yard job, who has a bachelor's in sociology.

If there are any lady railroad modelers out there, would you please
raise your hand and post something in the TF? We'd love to get
your angle on this deal!

Lady Lionel may have "fallen flat on its face" but a complete unopened set went for $10,000!!
So its a hot set for collectors

Yes guys its HO - I posted pics of the Lionel sets for comparison. I found the girls set on ebay. Very reasonably priced. I contacted the guy who custom painted them. He told me he tries to pick up all Mantua items at shows to make up the girls set. I asked him if he had the boys set - he said he had done them in the past, but they didnt sell. He did on up for me. What I really like about his work is for the most part it looks factory painted.

RE Girls and Boys Lionel sets - What I understood was that the Boys set with blue engines was MORE rare than the Girls set, as Lionel was trying to attract the fairer sex to trains, boys already had tons of LIonel sets to chose from. But I guess in the interest of fairness, they did a Boys set later on. But just not as many. I'll have to ask my boss at the Train Depot store what he knows about them. I know one of my aunt's had the Girls set, I wanted it, but she said she was saving it for her daughter. I imagine that it's residing somewhere around Baltimore , MD now.

As far as my SOTW goes, it's Super....bowl Express time. Just got it this past Thursday, I saw it come in, enquired of the boss about it, and he sold it to me Thursday. I"m not sure for HOW MUCH yet, but it's mine. Anyway, as you can tell by the photo, the wheels have already come off the Cowboy part <snicker> No Romo jokes, please! Hee hee!

I swear, my grandparents have that exact van . The one right below the caboose. I finally solved an age old question about it which is "Who made this?"

My SOTW is a project a long time in the making, a Phase I Amtrak train. All the components are Rivarossi. The powered A unit has an Athearn FP-45 chassis with a NWSL can motor. I painted/decaled the baggage car and the two coaches that are after the RPO - the rest of the set (RPO, dome, sleeper, tail car) I acquired in a great deal from Jim (JimandNancy).

Thank you for links to Transformer set. I get
a kick of that little radar on the switcher.

BTW. Beautiful Amtrak consist. Next time you're
in El Paso, bring it down. The Club layout is well
big enough to handle that cruiser.

Thanks Barry. I have high hopes that the layout will grow in Texas, enough to let this train stretch its legs a bit.
