Back in the early 90`s when Childrens Palace went out of buisness a buddy of mine bought out there whole stock of the LL 100 ton chessie hoppers and thought i`d post a shot of one that was reworked. These hoppers are pretty nice for the price and as many as I needed it was a serious money saver. The LL wheelsets were trashed and atherns mounted as well as body mounted KADEE`s and a custom coal load with some light weathering.Several of us on the group were talking about them so I thought i`d post a picture of the updated version. Im looking for some NIB to put in my collection because I remember having one as a kid and at the time it was the cats asz!
If anyone has any still in its box or on a blister card I`LL BUY OR TRADE!

Those were nice cars. I don't have any myself but I'll keep my eye open.
I'm personally looking for "The Rock" version of this car... about a dozen of 'em. Have 0 right now. Have an awesome pic of two fresh Chessie GP30s hauling a brand-new cut of those Rock hoppers... the LL car is a better match than the old Roundhouses I have now.
Bowser makes a nice version too... if I could find a dozen in cheap bulk it's be tempting.
Bachmann ALSO makes a very similar version to this car, but no Chessie or Rock versions.
