One of my priorities going to these events is to find the older diecasts I don't have, or missed when new, etc. Also the vintage types that are smaller and fit HO scale well. I ran across a few here on Friday, took some pics to post . Here they are -

Above - most of my HO scaled purchases, I'm not including the Johnny Lightnings I bought at 1/64th. Well, the superbird here isn't HO, either, but it was in the bag, so I threw it in. :) Didn't remember the old Matchbox blue metal car carrier, no truck, cost me $5. But I decided I wanted it. Got such makers as Yatming, Playart, Marx (orange tractor, yellow flatbed), Tomica, and others.

Above - the two car carriers. The packaged one is DEFINITELY HO sized, from Dollar Tree no less, wonder if they still have them? Haven't seen these at my local stores, although I rarely go in nowadays. I'd have noticed if they had them, I hit the toy aisle every time.

Above - here's the HW Superbird with the car carrier, you can definitely tell it's HO sized. Wish I could find more of these!

hey! I wants one too! Have you tried Dollar or 99cent stores?
Hey found that trailer on Ebay! I think you got a deal even if you didn't get the tractor

Hi AMC_Gremlin_GT,

Nice finds. I really like the Lesney #68b Mercedes Coach from 1965. There is also a harder to find Turquoise & White version. Can you tell me who made the orange truck at the front of the picture and the yellow truck with the dirt load. Do you think the dirt load came from the factory?
I am very envious of the Matchbox trailer, great find.

The Marx truck and trailer is very interesting, I have never seen this truck in this color. The only ones I have seen have a pink truck and trailer and are for a circus. The trucks usually haul animals in a clear cage with a green bottom.

Anyway, I could go on and on about the little cars and trucks so I will stop now, LOL.

Thanks for sharing.

There's also a yellow and white version, I have one of those, and about 5 of the orange and white I want to use for Airport Airshow limo service for an HO airport diorama. Seen a few of the turquoise on Ebay, but too rich for my blood. I actually found 5 or 6 of these orange ones at the show, around $5-10 each, I paid $5 for this one, I saved my money for the B&O coach passenger car I bought at the same vendor as this Mercedes coach. He had a great selection of cars and trains, too bad I was low on money by that time. Oh well.Always next year.

The orange truck is by Playart ( I've been collecting Playart for awhile, since they had several AMC cars ( AMX, '70 Javelin )) that I was interested in. I'm also collecting some of the HO train stuff Playart did. The yellow truck w/dirt load is a Husky, called a Guy Warrior Truck on the bottom, chrome plastic bottom. The dirt looks original

I've rarely run across Marx diecast, this one cost me $4, but I thought it worth it. Says Made in Hong Kong, inside the original Marx circle emblem, must have been when they started farming out production to reduce costs. There was another Marx truck at the same vendor, but I just got this one.

I didn't even know it was that special. I've seen just the tractor and trailer on Ebay today for $20, but thate set Microbusss linked to, wow. I guess the box and all really increased the value. There's another set like it, for another $1k higher. I'll just love it as it is, and find an age appropriate tractor for it.

Always a pleasure sharing, and finding out new things about what I bought.
