Happy Easter! Yes, yes, back from the dead, today of all days! My summer vacation in the Top End turned unexpectedly into a full time job but I got homesick so here I am. Hope everyone is well and your PowerTorques not too squeally.
Catching up and with new trains to share, I'll begin with this ER-Models/Bachmann RF-16A demonstrator found in my Christmas stocking, here pressed into Easter service. Not quite the Burlington Zephyr I asked of Santa, though Christmas Sharks are always cool and at least I'm off the naughty list... for now.
Tip for the Day: Eating a real gondola load of chocolate eggs may end up requiring 24" radius pants.

Got this last summer, got a box of HO stuff for $10. Among the contents of the box was 2 locomotives, a Tyco-Mantua F9 in Santa Fe and the other was this Southern Pacific F7, Athearn. Originaly it had no "glass" at all.And it had a broken horn, the one facing the rear. So I ordered some Athearn F7 parts from Horizon and installed them. Not sure how old it is, possibly about the same age as the Tyco Mantua F9 that was also in the box. A drop of LaBelle 108 here and there and it runs like new

Hi catfordken! Very solid looking mike you got there. No wonder they headed Tyco's longest freight trains.
C-Liners are A.O.K., shaygetz. Even ones with a jutting chin! SP Daylight scheme, JB? I like it a lot. You scored a real bargain there.
LOTW is as cool as ever!

that SP is 1984 or later. All I see missing is the brake cylinders and swing hangers on the trucks. These can often be found dirt cheap on that auction site. Larry

Here's my latest toy. I had a store coupon to use...I was hoping for some Via passenger cars, but this was the closest thing I could find (not that this is a bad thing ). It's a Walthers Trainline F40.

I have a long list of complaints about actually getting it on the track..."Ready to run"?...LOL. They may as well have used masking tape in the factory to hold it together...I had to glue so many things back together -_- I had a LOT more problems, but I think I'll leave it at that. In the end it does look good AND it runs smoothly. A nice step up from my old Life-Like F40
