not really sure if acid free boxes and tissue paper will stop or hold back the aging process of diecast & brass locos,but just acquired 50 of these boxes in red,but gotta be better than sitting on a shelf when unused,as they are in my case,attic nearly finished,but its halted at the moment as a new roof is being fitted in the summer,ken

Sounds like a good idea to me. Keeping the humidity low and temperature variations to minimum should also help.

I bought long plastic tube boxes of sizes 2.2 inches x 2.5 inches x 9 inches. They have 6 inch and 12 inch long as well. Clear-bags website carries the clear plastic boxes. I love these, because you can fit individual engines or cars in them and protect them. I think they cost about .75 cents each. Not a bad investment to protect engines and fragile cars.
