Can any veteran hobbyists from the early 80's shed any light onto this line? How was it really received in the marketplace, and what led to its demise? I know most if not all of the kits became the McKean Models line, but even that went bust after a few years.

In my experience, for their day the FR kits were pretty dang nice: featuring modern cars with reasonable detail and an intermediate-to-advanced level, and really proud of the "made in USA" factor. I'm just wondering what the general reception was.

Moreso now that I obtained an unbuilt original Front Range 63' Center Beam car, and dang - it might be the most maddening kit I have ever assembled. Lots of quirks and random issues. The later McKean version of this same kit addressed most of them.

Anyway, just looking for more info on a brand that seems to be "lost to time", even in today's info-overload age...
