I skipped my own club's 2-day Boy Scout show to attend this sale/swap meet, and BOY am I glad I did! Found lots of good items I wanted, many cheap, some real deals, steals, and not to mention wheels. I found plenty of low-production rolling stock like Gilbert, Marx, Varney, Lionel etc. to tempt me,and I gave in quite a bit today, the prices ranged from $1 to $15 per car I bought. Most were in the $4-6 range. And some nice engines, I brought home at least 11 of various makes, including German HO ( non-Marklin ). So, without further teasing, off I go here, but I"ll save one of the best deals for last :
One of my first buys just inside the door, I think it's a very old Athearn, $8. Powered. Number is 719 on the front boards.

I think this is abn old Ahm, no marks on the bottom I can see, other than made in Yugoslavia. Has a flat can inside, on it's side, and driveshafts.

For you fishy types, a nice $5 Tyco Starkist 62 foot boxcar, with box. can't complain about this guy! Awesome condition.

Another Amtrak Diesel, not sure of maker, will look thru my trucks crate and see if I have any that match this one. Other than the missing driveline, in very decent shape.

A John English all-metal passenger combine, thinking of changing out the undercarriage and making an RDC out of it. $5, he had another that was a painted all-passenger car. But I was low on funds by this time.

Got a pair of Hi-Liners ?, I guess athearn, rubber band powered. One even has engineers in the cab. Paid $15 for these two plus a marx flat and Gilbert reefer.

I finally got a Playart diesel engine, an F7. Seen them on Ebay, but they keep going higher than I want to pay. $10 for this one. And to go along with it, below -

Found this in a flat for $4. I've been finding Playart rolling stock, but hadn't found a caboose until today. So now I have enough rolling stock of Playart to make up a short consist. yay!

A city Services tanker, with metal chassis, for $4. I know some are rare, hadn't seen one of these yet with a metal chassis. Not sure who made this one.

Finally got my hands on a USA Express in nice condition, I wanted one for my AMC train. Still in shrinkwrap, not sure how original this is. $10 untested.

My most expensive rolling stock purchase at $15, but these Cox trailer flats are hard to find. I have one already, but decided to pick up another one.

Traincat is busy protecting a very nice purchase, I bought an entire box lot of Euro trains, with 4 engines in it, 27 ? pieces total, for $21. I used the in-house ATM to get more money, I didn't want to let this deal get away. Most are German-made Kleinbahn pieces, with one lone Fleishmann diesel engine, I think it's a Euro design. Here's one piece I picked up first, for $1, before he made me the stunning offer of $20 for the box lot. I like this next one -

This snowplow has a rubber-band powered axle to drive the plow blade. I guess it's a pusher, not motorized. Unfortunately, the Kleinbahn undercarriage metal is bowed, I wonder if this is a problem? Several of the other undercarriages for the passenger cars have the same issue, one serious, some just a slight bow.
Ok, I haven't posted all, I'll post more later in other Subjects. But here's the grand finale, my 2nd purchase of the morning, right after I walked in, the main deal I think. I already had one, but for the money, I couldn't pass this next one up -

This General looks good, haven't tried it yet, but very nice paint. But WAIT, there's MORE...see below!

With the General came these 3 passenger cars, a combine and two passenger cars. I paid $40 for the 4 pieces. It was a club sale, so someone may have donated it. I'd say this was one of my best deals of the day. Wasn't intending to buy a General, but when the deal offers up, then what do ya do? So I bought it. Hopefully it runs better than my other one. I'll find out.
I think total for the day, I spent about $140 on train stuff. Did have to hit the bank account again, but for the deals I got, I think I can justify it, and maybe I"ll flip some of it to recoup some money. Not sure I'll keep all the German Kleinbahn stuff, I do like some of it, the SBB set is nice with the pantograph setup. Some of the loose single pieces I may put up for sale later. Anyway, was a 2-hour train show day well-spent. The deals just keep on coming. All for now, I'll post more stuff in Round 2.

Oh, I was looking "out" for you, Ben. Didn't see any Tyco passenger cars, I was looking for the UP set or singles. Nuthin' . Not this trip, anyway. No other kind, either, that I saw. That's cool on the USA set, didn't know that. Mine looks like it's in nice shape. I'll keep looking for those UP cars.

Aren't train shows fun!!!???? That all metal pass. car for $5.00 would be the gem of the show for me. $2. klunker diesels are also fun for kitbashing.
