Hi guys,
my name is Mike, i was an avid model railroader when i was a kid in New York (mostly with Tyco trains from the late 70's and early 80's) I am looking to get back into it (I got out of it when my family moved to Florida) now i am looking back almost 25 years later and seeing what is what in the model railroad environment and my times have changed...

I hopefully i can get a run down of my current Tyco inventory soon and see what i can do with it (getting it ready for Rail use again)

Welcome Mike! Enjoy the Tyco trains the second time around.... I recollected my childhood Tyco train & slot cars on ebay the last few years... and had a lot of fun doing it!

Besides the Tyco Brand there are some other brands mixed in with it as well ( i been scouring the net recently trying to at least nail down where my grandfathers CNW F9 ( i believe its an F9) Locomotive came from - using railpics.net i have nailed down the paint scheme on the locomotive from the 60's but i will have to sanp a picture (when i find the locomotive)

Hey, MIke, welcome to Tyco Forums. Should have a good time here. Is your name SUndowner by any chance related to a certain AMC car model? I'm sure that's a long shot, but both the Pacer and Gremlin had Sundowner editions.

actually, Jerry, the Nickname "Sundowner" has a very different route when it comes to me. I was station on the USS Kitty Hawk back in the mid 90's and one of the F-14 tomcat squadrons was the VF-111 Sundowners
here is their logo

its a military thing for me really.
hope that helps some

Hey, pretty cool! I like that! Thanks for sharing it. My Dad was '40's Navy, I never served myself. My Model Train club, PWMRC.org, has probably 50% or better military members ( our actual club layout is in the VRE train station on Marine Base Quantico, VA). So I'm around lots of military guys constantly.
