I've heard of "tornado alley" but I'm convinced some of you live in Train Show Alley. Seems as if you guys get to shows almost every week.

Thanks everyone!!! I live in MN so shows are few and far between. Plus I plow snow in the winter so its never a sure bet that I can make any shows! I have already missed 4 shows since winter started!!! The set in the box is mint except for the wrong box cover, the sante fe shock control cars are in excellent condition (including the brake wheel) caboose is mint, the UP-7's I think belong in a red box, not sure, the sante fe and dummy are REAL NICE, UP GP-20 is in decent shape, ICG will be used for parts and the sante fe 630 is in great shape except missing the horn.... not in the pic... blue and yellow sante fe f-9, penn central box car and burlington gondola car... all for less than $100

I like the boxed dark red Shock control box car in your pic. I had one when I was young and since replaced it with another one. Kind of a boring car but for some reason I like it...

That's an excellent bunch of trains! That dark SF boxcar was always a favorite of mine as well.

The Santa Fe box car, I've seen it in at least two shades of dark red. I bought the darker one as it was like my 70's box car... Anyone know about the color differences.?

Yes, I'm one of those "lucky" souls. Living in the Washington DC metro area, I have Baltimore to the north, and Richmond, VA to the south. There's even train shows at Winchester, VA near West Virginia. So within a hundred miles radius, I can usually find a train show every 2 months, from the small TCA and local sale types to the huge Convention center types. I think since November, I've been to 5 shows, and there's one this weekend and one the next (Feb 12th). I'm skipping this weekend's show. And I must say, there have been VERY good bargains here, as vendors are dumping stuff to make money, so the Tyco / Bachmann / Lifelike items have been selling REAL cheap of late. Not trying to get $10 each minimum. $4-5 with boxes are average of late. Still have a few vendors who keep their prices up on the vintage stuff, but they aren't doing much business, I see quite a few people walk by their higher priced items ( just some vendors I see all the time, and know they price there stuff higher than others all the time ).
