Is the blue color used on these the same as some of the others made by Athearn (i.e Wabash for example). I need to replace the bottom part on one I got at a train show (broken steps) and was wondering if any of the other roadnames shared the exact color scheme so i can buy a donor car to upgrade the Navy one.
TIA,
Larry

Hi Larry. I have had the same problem. I had the US Navy work caboose with the Tool boxes missing. I kept looking at all the Blue work cabooses. B&M, Wabash, and B&O.. Never found a matching one. With Athearn you can get two of the same car made in different runs and they will not match.. ..
You can Probably get 2 cars from the same Run and they will not match.. Depends on who's turn it was to mix the paint..
I ended up mixing air brush paint until I had a color match and then painted them to match. Took some time. But, was worth the effort.. I now have another one that has the same problem. I have to sit down and do it again.. Carl
