Greetings from the Croatia. This forum was recommended to me BriansTyco, member of this forum. I am a lover of HO scale model trains. My first train set was a "Mehano" (Slovenian manufacturer) Canadian National CN8502 train from 1983. I still have this set. I like the American model trains so I have a few. In my country there is no store model trains. I buy model trains exclusively through e-Bay. I was surprised with the detail and quality of driving on Tyco Mantua models. "Mehano" is very stingy as regards the detail and quality. Thank you Brian for your recommendation of this forum.

Welcome, Sulle, to our humble little train forum . Wow, interesting to meet people from other parts of the world that Americans rarely get to touch base with. HOpefully you'll enjoy your visits here. I practically LIVE on this forum at night after work. Welcome aboard, and don't be afraid to post often.
I could start by asking a few questions about your Model train situation. How many model gauges are represented in your country? Ever heard of TT, is that around at all? ( Russia was heavily into that scale, I think ). HO is surely around, how about others like Tinplate Lionel? Just curious as to what's running over there.
Jerry Casper Virginia, USA ( mid-atlantic region, near Washington, DC ) Operator and collector of HO trains, DC and DCC also owns various quantities of : Lionel O-27, N gauge, G gauge, TT scale Euro.

Hey Sulle. Welcome to the forum! As well as Tyco, I have a number of Mehano engines which I really like. None of them are quite as old as yours though...I'd love to see some pictures

| I live in the city of Osijek and my models are stored in boxes at my brother in Belisce 30 km from Osijek. Currently in Osijek have two models for repair. I'm waiting for the parts that I bought on e-Bay. Living in own apartment 50m2, which is full, so I do not have space for all models. I put my models in boxes and waiting for better days. This year we start building the house in Belisce so I have a plan to build a basement room just for me and my models. When I went to Belišće I'll take pictures of my models so I'll put them on the forum.

WOW Sulle! What you call poor condition, would be like MINT in my view. That Santa Fe looks too be in very good condition, appearance wise that is. This will be a fine piece after your repairs are finished. Nice looking group engines

Other than age-related maintenance items and upgrades ( to knuckle couplers from loop-and-hook? ), Sulle, you appear to have a nice collection of engines that are in good shape otherwise. I think most of us American and Canadian collectors and operators would be proud to have those in our own train sheds. And any other worldwide members as well, not to leave them out. Very nice indeed.

Thank you
I am interested in the steam and diesel locomotives. But in my country the steam locomotives are more expensive than diesel locomotives. Because, I am more oriented to diesel locomotives, but I like the steam locomotive.

Got any specific diesel engines on your future Wish List to acquire ? By that, I mean a specific engine type and road name, not just randomly acquired or collected.

Thus it looked like somewhere in the middle of 1960 years when the legendary Gutman narrow-gauge railroad still smokes between Osijek and Belisce. Steam locomotive were called "Ciro" Gutmann Gabor 33 restored locomotive with the 19th century, which belongs to oldest locomotive that can be seen on Croatian territory. It is a very rare model steam locomotives. I've lived in Belisce 25 years. Today I live in the city of Osijek 30 km away from Belišće. I am currently in the procurement of data and drafting of this model. I'd like to make it from thin sheets brass . My greatest wish is to have this model steam locomotive in HO scale. This is very difficult to perform but not impossible.
This is Gutmann Gabor 33 called 'Ciro' :-)

My other wishes of steam locomotives is:
Pico Baureihe 41, DB Deutsche Bahn

Northern, 4-8-4

JZ(exSHS)05,06 i30. JZ30014

4-8-8-4 Big Boy Union pacific

4-6-6-4, Challenger Union Pacific

Beautiful steam models, but very very expensive for me. Maybe someday.
and my last wish is:
Model Of Diesel Loco, Class 661 Of Ex Yugoslav Railways (JZ) In H0 Scale There is model of most famous Ex Yugoslav diesel-electric locomotive. Model is plastic with metal details. 4 of 6 axles powered via drive shift from center placed motor. Very rare and very expensive diesel loco. I wish to have one :-)
"Karavela" JZ661-149

Hello there, great that the interest really extends a very long place with a lot of people coming from all "corners" of the globe and various walks of life.
Though when you come to think of it, it actually is not hard to gain interest over the models that you could get and see as they truly are great.
Just one of the best things about being able to collect and run through them when you have the time.
