Good morning; I am done shoveling so now i can concentrate on more important things! I am in the process of gathering parts to super detail my "new' Shifter. I am getting parts from Yard Bird (great guy) - pipeing, valve gear, cab floor and bell. I was wondering if there is any magazine or web article describing a full super detail (I searched but could not find any). I went on the Bowser site and saw all the detail parts for their 0-4-0 and 0-6-0 and there are quite a few. I could use it as a guide, but I prefer an actual list. Any ideas? Thanks.

An article about super detailing a steam loco would be nice to have. Model Railroading
did articles on super detailing diesel locomotives. Very handy. They had a complete list of detail part numbers with photo diagrams. For steam, maybe you could try a method I use.
I find photographs of the particular subject loco and learn what the various parts are.
Then research my detail parts catalogs, such as CalScale and then purchase those parts.

Not very easy but, educational and rewarding.

Unspoken expectations are premeditated failures.

I just found info on detailing a Shifter. MR September 1951 has an article. Now I just need to find a copy.
