I thought I'd post my set for the week of Christmas- TYCO Silver Streak 7322.
The Silver Streak was the first train set I ever had. My uncle gave it to me for Christmas when I was more than likely too young to put it together (or keep from electrocuting myself)- but regardless- I loved that set and that was when my interest in trains was started- 30 years ago.
Now, my son is the same age that I was when my interest in trains began. Tonight's test run worked out well for the 30 year old set (after swapping out the Power Torque set up and re-soldering the connections!). Tomorrow night, we'll set up the Silver Streak around the tree and I'll show him how to connect the track as well as let him control the throttle.
Hopefully, memories like this will stick out in my young son's mind as things that we did together for the holidays.
So, I thought it was fitting that I post my first train set that I got for Christmas as the SOTW for the week of Christmas.
