Hello All, I just picked up this tyco caboose. It's interesting that it has the metal trucks, metal axles, and metal handrails, but the underframe is plastic, and the trucks are riveted onto the plastic. I'm guessing this was somewhat a transition to the all-plastic versions. Can anyone nail down the date? Did any production go to Hong Kong before the end of the Red Box era?

I have that same caboose in a Brown Box. Probably a transition piece like you said,or reboxed leftover inventory.

| I have a Mantua coach that has the trucks like that. The matching coach is stamped Tyco but has the same trucks.
