Latest train show finds. The 3-pack of Spirit of 76 cars was $20.00 and the VIA/CN Caboose were $3.00 each.

| The Wonder Women was $5.00. In the red box is a Pennsy box car also for $5.00. I purchased the IC car because when I was a kid growing up in York, NE a store by the name of Alco opened up and that was the 1st thing i purchased from the store. Great memory.

| The hoppers are grand, I must say. And the cabeese are neat as pins! Slightly off topic but something I've long wondered, is the ICG classed as an east or west railroad?

I did very well today at the train show in KC:
Only one tanker is a real keeper, the others I bought for the trucks. At $1 each it was a no-brainer. The Lionel BN went back together and runs nice. Just needs handrails and a horn.
A couple Athearn switchers. The SF is slow, can't figure why yet. The shells were cheap, and so was the box of stuff.
These three SF shells were free!
The Varney and the yellow Box SF are dummies, $2 and $1 each! The other boxed locos were $2! They look like they are brand new...the RS-2 was still in original shrink wrap. The auto carrier was only 4 bucks. I almost walked out before I found this table.
There's one more loco just out of sight, but I'm going to start another thread on it. I already "lost" the Rock Island loco to my daughter, who thought it was pretty. Frankly, I always thought that paint was "pretty," and never liked it. But for 2 bucks, I wasn't going to pass it up.

You got some good deals for sure I see you bought a few of those plastic cars my layout is covered in...I always thought the sloppy bumper/headlight paintjob was the work of a previous owner. Looking at yours though, it would seem I was wrong I also like that Florida East Coast engine.

I've been trying to get either a restoreable Casey Jones by Varney, or parts. I've got a partial new kit, but missing running gear, motor, etc. Nice find! The junkers on Ebay are selling for $20 or more.
Caboose could be a Mantua, they had metal bottoms.
Nice on the Hess find.

Ken ; By getting two, the pilots will match. If i only could have found bodies. The chrome one has the old Hong Kong drive. The motor is a pancake built into the rear truch. The other is the FT that is in the market right now. Maybe i could power a box car or something with the drive. Frank

The nice thing about the Somerset show was there were no "Beanie Babies" or "Pickle Vendors". Not alot of quality Ho. I did find a few items. Will post pics later.
The Shark Nose Demonstraters are cool!!!

* I'll gat there about 2 PM. Enough time to talk a little, walk around once and then Pack up. * So many toy venders. Out of all the dealers a little more than half are trains. Did you see the huge New York N gague train club setup. I am HOer and evenous of what can be done with N. But it is so small! I have a hard enough time seeing the HO. frank

I missed the N ga. set-up. I was studying the O ga layout as I like the track set up. There were a lot of toy vendors and they were not selling a thing.......

Today's haul from the Merchant Sq Mall show:
AHM E8 PRR Green Freight- NIB Athearn FM Santa Fe- NIB Athearn PPR PB-1 NIB AHM RS-2 Santa Fe shell- New Tyco Plymouth Switcher- No lettering but I am gong to paint it an Amtrak MoW orane. Tyco SF GP-20 with railing- NIB (for $5 I couldn't pass it up).
The FIND was a Tyco "A"-"A" 1959 era C & O F9 engines with the silver roof. These were in someone's junk tray.
Revell Mow Track Cleaning Car. An Athearn or American GK NJ Transit E60CP. This has problems as the front & rear skirts had a portion removed and two steps are missing. Bachmann Amtrak phase III passenger car.
