This would have been a cool train if TYCO would have sold them this way- Operating Virginian Coal train set with operating hoppers and dual powered alco 430's. Could also have been labeled King coal set??

Brian sadly last eve one of my Virginians suffered a glitch. It was running ok then all of the sudden it slowed and started to smoke. I took it apart and cleaned it tonight. The armature looked as it the surface had lost it's finish. It still runs but slow at full throttle. [:(]

How are you mounting the Kadees to the Tyco truck? Does it require drilling or cutting so you can't reverse it? I noticed the KD's on the other post. PS: Nice picture and it makes a handsome train. The Golden Eagle Caboose, on the end of a small train, looks good with the Virginian.

This is a neat idea Brian! Guys post their locos pulling their favorite "what if Tyco made this set" rolling stock. I' think the Golden Eagle looks like a "what-if Tyco made this train set" pulling a string of Conrail hoppers. Or some Alco 4301 double headed pulling pulpwood cars.
