Yeah, but I'm sure you could customize it with a custom cab. I have no modeling skill, but I think I'd try just making a cab. I've seen hundreds of these locomotives in my hunts, and I find them to be "dime a dozen" in terms of uniqueness. Make this one unique; make a backstory to explain a custom cab!

In the meantime, ya'll want me to look for any of these in my travels?

Did you ever get that cab? I found one on Ebay here while I was looking for something else:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HO-SCALE-MANTUA-TYCO-4-6-0-RODGERS-CAB-/221135322877?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item337cb13efd
It should at least be the right color, right?

It is that time of year when so many passenger trains from all over the country come to Bergen Point. They come in there old time trains. There locomotives fill the Frankford roundhouse. The Passenger cars the yards.

Exit , entry, service, and stroage tracks. I do know that all the engine seen in these photos are not Tyco old timers, but of the 50 engines on this layout right now, 34 are Tyco-Mantua, of the 34, 32 are old timers.

Are all of the above real Tyco cars (red or brown box era?), or perhaps Mantua too? I never knew there were so many road nmaes offered. I can only think of brown box W&A cars, and the r/w/b Sof76 set.

Sam Hi. I think of Mantua and Tyco as the same company. All the cars I have posted, and there are others, were made by them. Most cars and locos made only said Mantua on the bottom. On others you could find both the Mantua and Tyco name there. This post is just about the old timers 1860 and 1880 style of cars and locos. When you go to HOseeker, or Tony Cooks sites, and look through the catalogs there, you find many road names. I hope you enjoy the photos.

Frank,
Did you add these reels as a load, or did the car come that way? It's a really interesting idea. I just wonder if it looks like Tyco/Mantua modified the mold for the reels, or did they mold them as normal and cut them to fit?

I was at an EMD open house in around 1985 and got to see the EMD HO club layout on a tour. The only thing I clearly remember is there was a large diesel shop area (go figure), and there was an old timer Tyco gondola like this with an Athearn dummy GP truck as a load. After that my OEM Tyco water tanks or whatever that round load was would be lost forever and the dummy GP truck took its place.

Is the D in SF&D for Disney? Is that what makes these "Disney" cars? Didn't Tyco also have regular Santa Fe cars, or maybe I'm only thinking of these?

Which was from 1953 to 1974
So now its just called The Disneyland Railroad
