Well, Firefox web browser finally tee'd me off totally, their new update has made it harder to browse quickly, or even play games decently, so I searched /researched on Google Chrome broswer, and while it has issues with some Apps, I'm not looking to play music or anything, just browse. So I downloaded it, and it definitely has sped up the refresh rate of the screen, Tyco Forum now doesn't have any lag to it changing screens and loading photos.
Just wondered what Browsers the rest of you use, and your experiences with them. Firefox has bloated itself into near uselessness for me now, playing games using it is no fun. Too slow. Chrome seems to be very minimalist and functional. Any comments on Chrome from anyone?

I tried others. But, I'm Happy overall with MS IE8. Has not given me any problems. Since I have been using all the Variations Of IE over the years for internet and Network systems. I find it very easy to use.. Carl

I also use IE8, and I love it. I have tried others to see what they are all about. But in the end, I find IE to be the best.

The one thing about Google CHrome that got my attention is that supposedly the programming does NOT allow any website to write files to your computer. Period. So you can't get a background download with a virus, because it won't allow anything like that to happen, unless it notifies you that it's trying to download something. That's always been my big beef with Browser software, why can't it notify me every time it's writing something to my hard drive? Apparently this was written in the code to stop this, so that's a huge plus to me. But the faster refresh speed is much better now. Maybe I'll have to update my old 6.0 IE to the newer 8, and see what it's like as well. Thanks so far for your comments.

love Chrome and the quick switch to a new page
you are right about blocking web sites. OTOH IE is famous for viruses
I was a netscape user for years until it went defunct.. Tried Mozilla, too slow.. I also use Sea Monkey a revised Netscape mainly for forwarding pics..
Check your library to see id they have Idiots guide to Google Chrome & Chrome O S
I won't use I E as i avoid M S as much as possible

| I'm happily using firefox, although I haven't upgraded lately. Nothing in this world could make me go back to IE. I've tried Opera, Safari, and Chrome, but I'm still happy with Firefox. But that could change with any given update.
