I hope nobody minds, but for my BOTW I'm going to step away from HO to the O/O27 world. Here's a Marxville Toys factory that I've had for a while. I've always liked it--it's just a fun addition to our totally non-serious Lionel setup. You can't tell in the pictures, but the windows have pictures carved in them. I think if I lit it up it would have a silhouette effect.

This came in a huge box of Plasticville items. There's an interesting story to this: I went about 45 minutes North to a town that had an antique store with a real SF caboose in front of it. The store was closed, but I stumbled across another antique store down the road. The older woman running it asked if she could help me find anything, and I of course said trains. She said she didn't have any, but she had some "buildings and stuff" to go along with them somewhere in the back. She had sold a couple on ebay, but didn't like how that worked out. So she let me out of the small shop into an unheated garage piled full of tables of stuff. That connected to another garage piled full of appliances and junk so full that I really had to suck in my gut to squeeze through. That led into a cinder block building piled full of more stuff...by this time I'm starting to wonder what was waiting for me at the end of this, and if I'd ever return. What I ended up carrying out and buying was over 2O Plasticville items, all in the box and most complete. There was even a complete with box Lionel ammo bunker in it all. It was an interesting experience and just the reason I always stop at antique stores, even though most of them are a rip-off.

Gosh burlington77, I thought Tyco's Old Time Factory was big! The lines and proportions of this building are very neat despite its overall size. Do you know if anyone has done a version in HO?
You're treasure hunt sounds like a fairytale but I'm glad the witch didn't eat you. Your luck has been far better than mine at antique shops. Unsurprisingly, Marklin and Hornby are all I've found, neither of which are my scene. Chance is a fine thing.

Never seen an HO version, Tyko...never even seen another O version.
Funny about our luck, I've never seen Marklin or Hornby. In this part of the world I see mostly Life-Like and Bachmann at places like that. And even those are insanely overpriced. Remember, to an antique dealer, everything's collectible. And everything's worth a small fortune.

I'll add my old Life-Like Equitable Trust Bank imtroduced in the early 70s. I have always liked this kit since I was a kid.

That's bad news. It reminds me of a cutdown Grusom and would have done just fine in a trackside industrial area.
Love the ertyl, ken. Looks almost Lima!
Walt, is that bank what turned into the Life-Like Business Center? They just discontinued that kit. So sad.
