I bought these 15 pieces vac-sealed, and it wasn't until I cut the package apart that I saw the Tyco name on the undersides. Didn't know Tyco did streetcar tracks. Did they do the straights as well? What years were these made? Were they considered streetcar or trolley tracks? Or both? For $7.50 for the bundle, I thought it was a good deal.

| Yes, they had straight sections. They came in a box with the trolley in the 60s.

| Great find, AMC! They would look brilliant in a Tyco Center Street setting. How wide are the sections? Do you think a Bachmann trolley could handle those sharp curves?

I don't know, but I can try one of my smaller trolleys. Are you talking about the PPC trolley by Bachmann, the longer one? I don't think I have one of those myself. The span is 3.5 inches across.

Ok, here's some pics of a Cary? / Bowser Trolley on the tyco track. The trolley is 6 inches long, there's 2 inches between the front and rear axles closest to each other. I did apply power, and the trolley has issues, but will negotiate the curves ok.

So a basic 6 inch trolley seems to negotiate the curves OK.

AMC,
Your trolley looks awesome on that track!
I'm almost speechless.
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

Thanks for the track section info, AMC. The Bachmann Brill Trolley http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/products.php?act=viewProd&productId=511 is more what I had in mind.

Great shot! I can easily see the roads relative size and track radius there. Thank you for going to so much trouble, Jerry. Much appreciated.

That Bachmann Brill ought to work fine, since it has swiveling trucks and 4 axles, not just two non-swiveling axles. I tried a Hustler on it, and it doesn't like it. Needs the swivel capability of the trucks to work and not bind up. I have quite a few of the cheaper non-truck type trolleys, so I doubt they'll work with the wheelbase being so far apart on those. No problemo on the effort, I enjoy trying things out like that.

The trolley is Bowser. They were all metal in the beginning.

Holy carp, that is a LOT of Tyco streetcar track in one place! Whew! Don't see that often. I'm wondering ( still ) if this stuff could be 3D printed cheaply enough.

I do like, and that be pretty hard to find at any price, but I am fastening my seat belt and resisting this. I can whip up a pretty decent facsimile using a nine inch section of brass track, balsa wood and gray paint. I am remodeling my Tyco Expander Layout and can probably fit another 9 inches. At ten dollars an inch, I'm good with balsa. I've tried: AHM 4 wheel street cars won't accomodate the radii, nor will Bachmann cable car, nor will PCC car. Only ones that will take the curve is Tyco and Tyco Strap Hanger. https://youtu.be/MYOm-JglIjA

No, I have no inclination to sell them. Sorry. Hope to find more myself one day, including straights which I do not have any of either.
