This is for the Tyco experts...
Did Tyco make an Alco 630 Spirit of 76 engine?
I've seen lots of articles on powered motors, but nothing about dummy engines to go with them..
Just curious...
Cheers, Ian

Hi Ian, I'm no expert but I do know that Tyco did produce the 76 in the alco 630 line.

Walt, thanks for the info.
The reason I'm asking, is because I won an Alco 630 Spirit of 76 dummy locomotive on eBay earlier this week.
I really didn't know if they made one. The more I thought about it, the more I began to think that this person had a junk 630 and made a dummy out of it.
Just curious..

I too like the 630s! As a kid in the mid 70s when they were introduced I wanted one badly. I never got one until I was 41 !!
I have the D&H, Illinois, Santa Fe, & Chessie System. I have never favored the plated looking ones such as Golden Eagle... I need to pick up a 76 in the future
