I picked this on up with last weeks CotW, the Navy hopper. This one is not an animated brake man car, but has animated brakeman printed on the side of the car near the door. I had one before and never noticed the printing error, traded it to a fellow member who pointed it out. Glad I found another one.

I'm gonna post my second Coke Cola box car by Tyco. This was sent to me as a gift, by a friend I made on ebay 10 years ago. I have never met him in person. It's the only train car that I own that doesn't have the original ole horn hook couplers...

Luck, usually comes dressed in work clothes...

Bought this Varney some years ago without doors, now I found a Lifelike donor car that cost me a lot more than the Varney. But I could also save the ladders with brakewheel and it came with Rivarossi metal axles. it was green so I had to paint the doors. - Erich

Nice car, Erich. I thought all UP stock cars were yellow! So are the Life-Like cars completely identical to Varney or just the doors?
Superb coach set, Ken. They would look fantastic behind my L's OTW!

They are nearly identical, but some changes or"updates" were made over the years. Like plastic all in molded trucks instead of sprung trucks. Also extra ladders and roofwalks were added. Carfloor changed!
Nice set Ken!

My COTW is nothing special. It's a common Life-Like boxcar. The reason it's special to me is because it was pictured in their "Basics for Beginners" pamphlet that was included in my first train set. I drooled over that thing for months. I never had the car back in the day, and only recently got one for cheap.
