Yep I'm a Owl.
look at this one. penn line body, Fleischmann trucks and couplers. I know the Penn-Line used Fleischmann for a source of ho cars and marketed them in their sets and sold singly. Passenger and freight. Did this go both ways? Is that what created this car, or was it a modler looking to put a truck transport car in a Fleischmann freight train.

Those are standard Fleischmann trucks and coulpers on a Penn-Line flat car.
Was it sold as a Fleischmann or a Penn-Line.

Ken ; great find. Question remains !All you have done is show the Penn-Line version with Fleischmann trucks and couplers. Now what I am still wondering. Was it sold as Fleishmann with the Fleischmann couplers. In fleischmann boxes, in Europe.

Anyone know if these couplers could be removed? and if they are, where can I get some, I have a hornby 0-4-0 steam locomotive and only 3 cars that can go with it, Although the XF2 couplers are somewhat compatable

The Penn Line caboose and flat cars were never sold by Fleischmann in the US or Europe. Penn Line bought Fleischmann rolling stock fir their sets in 1955-56 timeframe until PL developed their own tooling. The green Northern Pacific Cars were FLM PRR cars that PL purchased from FLM and repainted in Boyertown. The NP's are not original FLM product. Per Oscar Fleischmann visit in 10/88.
