Any ideas about how to get more traction? I have new tires but getting a truck with a trailer up the highway overpass seems a bit difficult- tires start to spin at one point going up the grade. Perhaps it is the grade or the pickups pushing away from the frame and pushing the chassis off the track. It does have good traction on a flat surface.
I'm using a highway overpass style track configuration.
Anyone notice this who tries to run trailers on an over and under set up?Edited by - JohnnyKane on July 13 2010 10:40:56 PM

Ok Johhny, I am not familiar with what overpass track pieces the US-1 offered. I do know that the older Tyco slot car track made what they called a "hill track" which was two 9 inch pieces that made a fair size hill or overpass. I have some of these and the cars hang up on them because they are slightly steepper than maybe they need to be. They work ok if the slotcar is moving quickly over them... Walt
Luck, usually comes dressed in work clothes...

I tried the Bull Frog Snot on my Trains and it works great, but doesn't last very long, Hope this helps a little.

Huh. Bullfrog Snot. I may have to look at that at some point in time for my trains. THANKS!!!
Well, I ended up getting some 440x2 motors and some slightly larger diameter tires. All in all, I think I've changed the mechanical advantage (tires & motor torque) enough now that it works the way I want it to.
No surprise though... my doubles (together) are a bit heavier in weight when compared to the singles when pulling up the hill. FWIW- single TYCO US-1 trailer weighs about 3/4 of an ounce while the collective weight of my doubles- including the dolly- is about 1.25 ounces.
On a flat track- I never notice the difference. It's only on a grade that I really notice the difference between doubles and singles.
