I have a Tyco Little Trains HO Scale train set that I am having a very difficult time getting additional info. on.
The Set No. is T-1003 with Switch Locomotive - it was advertised in Life Magazine in 1954 for the complete set at a price of $44.95 - The train set is with the original box which has dark and light green graphics - Any help you could give me with a possible value and where I could sell it would be greatly appreciated. I may be able to send pictures if needed.
Thanks

Lcayard, I believe ebay is the best place to sell your train set. Seems like ebay gets you a good price for your items. I'm have no clue of your sets value but if it is valuable, ebay will get your price..

Luck, usually comes dressed in work clothes...

hi lcayard, like walt said, check ebay, there are no hard and fast rules to values of trains more so tyco/mantua,it all depends on the market which at the moment is not the best to sell in,second the rarity of item, condition of items and box,and ebay, which sets the values, sad as it may seem price guides are useless as they are out of date the moment there printed, but ebay is fresh and will show what you might get,and even then the prices go up and down like a yoyo,my advice is not to think of what its worth, but to enjoy it,only thing i will say to you, regardless of what the set cost back in the 50s,unless its mega rare and boxed in mint condition, the price will not be much different,in fact with 50+years of inflation it will not be worth much more than it cost, ken ps sorry if thats not the answer you were expecting

Ken, That's the perfect answer. Not trying to get rich - just trying to get a feel for its possible value. Seems strange that we have done so much research and just can't find this particular set for sale anywhere - we will give E-bay a try and see what happens.
Thanks again!!!!

HI lcayard, you still have not said if set is boxed and what condition its in,if it is a rare set it must be boxed to fetch the higher prices,to collectors they want it as it was sold to fetch the higher prices paperwork etc,us users buy em to play with so box is not that important, and not even condition in some cases, but we only pay peanuts for said items ken
