No factory release sets? Me neither. Just have to make do.
Today I bought this:

The Pace Setter West! This industrial set boasts a pair of IHC SD24's that should handle the half dozen Athearn RTR freight cars with ease including 50' Piggybacks, always a railfan favourite. Bundled structures are the tidy Tyko Truck Terminal plus a very old friend: The Built-Up Lighted Factory... only not built-up... nor lighted... or even painted. Oh well, something to do over the holidays! The Ford van and McHenry couplers were a welcome surprise bonus and so all up, I give this set: 9/10.

Hi taycotrains,

That is one sharp set there. Did Herkimer Tool and Model Works actually make the trains? Or did they get them from companies like Athearn and Lionel? I ask because the Hustler looks like the one made by Athearn for themselves and Lionel.

Thanks
Mike

I too, like the Tyco / IHC Truck Terminal. I guess since I have soo many Tyco piggybacks that I need to get this terminal. I have had it in mind for quite sometime now.

Cool set, Tayco. Obviously re-branded Athearn equipment. Is the Hustler rubber band or gear drive?

What an elegant set, Taycotrains. It amazes me no end how you guys manage to find old sets in such fine condition, even the track is shiny! Can't help thinking of puzzled kids on christmas morning expecting a sleek Streamliner as pictured on the box, getting instead a humble hustler. There may have been tears.

microbusss, walt, I would offer you my Truck Terminal but then my truck would have nowhere to terminate!

Thank You for the thought of giving up the truck terminal Tykowolf!!

The good thing is there is plenty to go around. I will grab one of those ebay auctions soon!

Will do, microbusss!

I hope you win a bargain, walt. The Truck Terminal is quite a neat kit.
