Since we already did Bicentennial units a couple weeks back, I'll just post a steamer...A Model Power/Mantua Classics 2-6-6-2 Mallet. This one came to me in pieces, having taken a 5 foot swan dive to the floor. It was offered for the price of postage. Remarkably, the only damage was to one side of the rear drivers. After 8 hours of careful tinkering and reassembly, I present it to you here, running happily about, the only part needing replacement was one crank pin...

This is what it looked like when I got it...

Those are nice locos. Here's one from a recent garage sale:

This one's a Bachmann, smokes like crazy but runs fairly slow.

Here's a Seaboard diesel I just picked up at the Timonium show, an old Athearn. It had a broken front truck, and a burnt motor in the rear, so I used the parts out of a BL-2 frame that was cut in half to fix this chassis. The BL-2 motor was a 5-pole, this one was a 3, so it runs better and smoother , or will. I'm not sure what body this is, anyone know?

AMC,
That is an AHM model of a Fairbanks Morse C-Liner.

Like choochin3 said, it's AHM. Those things are kind of fun. I own a few, and each one runs differently. Some are smooth but noisy, some are silent, and some are a disaster. Looks like you have the horns on that shell. Those are can be hard to find intact.

Wow! Muchos marvelous mallets, amigos!

Talk about bringing a slingshot to a gunfight: The Busy Beaver, my very first steam locomotive! Don't laugh, Boosters are cool. Pocket rocket boosters that is, because I'm pretty sure this little cracker could get a train into orbit and then where would the Beavermongers of ByWard Market be? Making BeaverTails out of dough, that's where and a good thing to.

Um, shaygetz? This thread is 8 days long!
